FUN THINGS FOR FREE:
Hike one of our ten official hiking trails - including the new, paved Discovery Trail that meanders through the dunes from Beard's Hollow/North Head Lighthouse to north Long Beach(also open for bicycles, roller blades and skateboards), play tennis in Ilwaco, Seaview, or Long Beach, walk or run our 28 miles of sandy beach, beachcomb, bicycle, canoe or kayak, fly a kite, go wildlife watching - we have Bald Eagles, Great Blue Heron, gulls, numerous shorebirds, Elk, waterfoul, River Otters, Pelicans, Seals and Sea Lions, Black Bears and Gray Whales. Visit our two historic lighthouses - one is even open for tours in the summer. Wander the docks at Ilwaco's 900 slip marina - if you come on Saturdays during the summer you'll find a small festival/market underway. Visit "Waikiki Beach" to swim or experience the waves crashing into the rocks below the lighthouse. Window shop in downtown Long Beach to your hearts content! |
